How to Track Your NCH Complaint Status Using a Docket Number
Published: · By Arjun Mehta, Consumer Rights Researcher | AutoComplaint
TL;DR: Sign in at consumerhelpline.gov.in with the mobile number you filed from, open your grievance history, and select your docket number to see the current status and the company's remarks. You can also call 1915 with the docket number. For Convergence Program companies a response is expected within 30 days.
5 Steps to Check Your NCH Complaint Status
- Find your docket number. It is in the confirmation SMS and email sent when the grievance was registered.
- Sign in to the NCH portal. Use the same mobile number you filed with; verification is by OTP or password.
- Open your grievance history. The dashboard lists every docket you have filed with its current status and last update date.
- Read the status and company remarks. This is where the company's reply, or a request for more information, appears.
- Respond or escalate. Upload anything requested quickly. If nothing remains unresolved, you can consider approaching the appropriate Consumer Commission.
What Each NCH Status Label Means
- Registered
- NCH has received the grievance and issued a docket number.
- Under Process / Forwarded
- The grievance has been sent to the company for a response.
- Information Sought
- NCH or the company needs more details or documents from you.
- Resolved / Case Disposed
- The grievance has been closed with an outcome recorded.
- Invalid / Rejected
- The grievance was out of scope or lacked the required evidence.
How Long Before the Status Changes?
Registration is immediate. Forwarding to the company usually happens within a day or two. Most acknowledgements arrive within about a week, and the statutory response window is 30 days for Convergence Program companies. Our guide on what happens after you file an NCH complaint breaks down each stage, and the data on whether NCH actually works shows typical outcomes.
